Session descritions:
SNIA Certification Preparation at SNW Frankfurt 2008
This is a great opportunity for those working on their SNIA certifications to get some up to date information and free exam preparation sessions. These SNIA Certification Preparation Sessions are full of valuable content and are based on the Infinity I/O curriculum which has been fully validated by the SNIA. Sessions will be available covering each of the above exams and will be delivered by Peter Coleman of Infinity I/O. The sessions will set the stage for participants to learn about the content of the test blueprint as well as key learning points from our instructor led courseware. This information will help the test takers assess their readiness to take the SNIA SNCP (vendor neutral) exams. The SNIA Storage Networking Certification Program is built around three accreditations with one session devoted to each level of accreditation.
SNIA Certified Storage Professional – the keystone of the certification program. The SNIA Storage Network Foundations (S10-101) exam will certify that the successful candidate has knowledge of general storage networking concepts, components and basic ability to work on a storage network implementation team.
SNIA Certified Storage Engineer – The SNIA Storage Network Management/Administration Exam (Currently S10-200 – updated S10-201 to be released on 6 Oct) covers day to day topics for administration and management of a storage networking environment and data center. The test also addresses performance, fibre channel security and fibre channel protocol change management.
SNIA Certified Storage Architect – The SNIA Architect – Assessment, Planning & Design Exam (S10-300) tests the candidate’s knowledge of assessments, planning & design from a storage networking perspective. The exam will validate that the candidate can architect a solution leveraging industry best practices and standards including ITIL and ITSM.
Other training Partner Session Descriptions:
Das Data Center von morgen – Bringt FCoE LAN und SAN zusammen?
Referent: Dr. Berthold Manz , ExpertTeach
Referent: Gerd W. Becker, Empalis/qSkills
This session discusses how to implement an alternative backup methodology for IBM Tivoli Storage Manager with NDMP and Snapshots for N-Series and NetApp Filers. IBM Tivoli Storage manager configuration for NAS-components, device and library configuration, client configuration, backup and recovery, TSM as an NDMP Tape Server, Filer-to-Server configuration, Disaster Recovery Manager for NDMP Backups.
Backup und Recovery Strategien für Oracle Datenbanken mit NetApp Storage
Referent: Matthias Jung, Ordix/qskills
Setup and administer an iSCSI SAN in a HA-Clustered NetApp environment.
Referent: Frank Thode, NetApp Lead Instructor at Fastlane Germany
Basic setup of a NetApp Storage Controller (raidgroups, aggregates, volumes, qtrees) including virtualization concepts. Seting up a HA-Clustered NetApp unified storage environment. Creating and managing iSCSI-LUN’s including behaviour of Databases accessing the LUN in different failover szenarios. Non disruptive resizing of LUN’s in a production environment. Non disruptive rolling upgrades of the storage controllers software in an active production environment.
Program subject to change without notification.
